Instagram is rolling out a “long-requested feature”. The Meta-owned platform announced on Thursday that it is rolling out the ability for users to add captions on every slide in a carousel. Previously, users could only add a single caption for all slides in a carousel.

It’s a feature that adds more depth to carousel posts in terms of storytelling, and creative users will probably take advantage of it. For some users, coming up with captions for posts is already a hard task.

To use the feature, there is a new toggle for “single caption” or “multiple captions” before making posts. Selecting the “multiple captions” option basically lets you add a unique caption to every slide.

The feature is rolling out globally to all users this week.

Instagram made multiple changes to how users share content over the years. The platform went from picture-only to allowing videos and eventually expanded the number of slides in a carousel from 10 to 20. Recently, the company released another highly requested feature by allowing users to reorder posts on their profile grids.
