Design and Build Quality

One of the first things you will notice is how good the phone looks. It has a special “Sugar Cube” camera design that makes it stand out from other devices.  The back of the phone has a special texture that catches the light in a beautiful way, yet it is also designed to be fingerprint-free so it stays looking clean. It is also very tough because it has an IP68 rating, which means it is protected against dust and water. You do not have to worry about the phone getting damaged if you are caught in the rain. The phone is incredibly slim at 7.95 mm and weighs just 204g.

The rear panel is finished with a special texture that catches the light beautifully while remaining fingerprint-resistant, ensuring it stays clean throughout the day. Despite its smooth, premium feel, the back provides a secure, grippy texture that is comfortable to hold.

The brightness is excellent, ensuring you can see your screen clearly even when you are outdoors in bright sunlight.

Performance

Inside the phone, a fast processor makes sure that your apps open quickly and that you can switch between different tasks without the phone slowing down. It runs on the Mediatek Dimensity 7100, which is fully optimized for fast 5G connectivity and smooth gaming up to 90 frames per second.  The processor is paired with 8GB of RAM (expandable up to 16GB) and 256GB of internal storage. The Infinix Hot 70 Pro is well-suited for everyday tasks like web browsing, social media, and app usage. 

Gaming Performance

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro is capable of handling light to moderate gaming. While it features a hardware gyroscope for better control, it is not designed as a flagship-tier gaming device. Users should expect stable performance in casual games and standard games rather than high-end, graphics-intensive gaming. But honestly, I am impressed by how it has handled some high-demand games, such as PUBG. Whether you are juggling work emails, social media, or multitasking, the phone remains fast and responsive.

Software performance

The device ships with Android 16 and Infinix’s XOS 16 interface. For security, you have the fingerprint sensor on the power button, which was very fast and responsive when in use. The phone has 3 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates, which makes it a cool device.

In terms of hardware interaction, Infinix has introduced two notable additions:

• The AI Button: A dedicated, tactile physical key located on the side for quick access to intelligent features. This is a unique productivity feature that allows users to perform quick tasks like saving namecards, scheduling events, or summarizing content with a single tap.
• The Active Matrix Cube: Situated right next to the 50 MP camera module, this signature design element enhances the phone’s futuristic look.

One-Tap AI button

The one-tap AI button totally changes the way we use AI on our phones, and instead of digging through multiple apps and multiple menus, you just click the button, and that’s it. There is a very helpful feature called the One-Tap AI button. With just one touch, you can use tools like Flash Memo to quickly save notes from a meeting or summarize information you find online without having to take screenshots. This is a very simple way to save time during your workday. If you like to play mobile games, you will also notice that the phone is very responsive and easy to control, especially in action games.

Active MatriX Cube

The Active MatriX Cube is a customizable light matrix inherited straight from flagship devices. It works even when your phone is faced down. It gives you smart status alerts for calls and messages, and you can even customize it to display different light patterns for family versus co-workers or your partner, for example. And it also features a party icebreaker. I am sure we really miss phones being fun, and it’s good to know this feature brings back the phone.

Camera Performance

The main camera is a 50MP Sony sensor accompanied by a front-facing camera, an 8MP wide sensor, and supports video recording at 2K at 30fps. Taking photos is also very easy with this phone, as the main camera takes very clear and detailed pictures. If you want to take a picture of something that is far away, you can use the 2x lossless zoom feature to get a closer view without the image looking blurry. In addition, the AI software inside the camera ensures photos captured look sharp and colorful, even in challenging lighting conditions.

Battery Performance

Infinix packed a massive battery of 6000mah to keep the phone running and is built to last all day, which is perfect if you are always on the go. It supports 45W Lightning Fast Charge, which can reach 50% capacity in approximately 30 minutes and 100% in about an hour. 

A notable feature for users who game or watch long videos is “Bypass Charging”. When you plug your phone in to charge while you are playing games or watching movies, the electricity goes directly to the phone instead of the battery. This keeps the phone from getting too hot and helps the battery stay in good condition for much longer. When you do need to quickly charge, the fast charger works very well.

Aside from the bottom bezels and video recording, which can be better, I think the device offers a lot of amazing features for its price.
