There is a new Instagram Focus Portrait mode which has been added to Stories in the latest update by the Facebook owned app. Instagram is constantly improving and millions of people now use its Story feature every day.
Those who use good camera phones like the Samsung S8, S9, IPhone 8, iPhone 10, the Phantom 8 and lots more should know what the Focus feature looks like. When on Focus, the camera blurs out the background softly and keeps the attention on the person being snapped making sure the photo comes out in a striking way.
How to Use Instagram Focus Portrait Mode
Instagram Focus Portrait mode works with videos as well as photos. To use the new feature, tap on the Story icon and swipe to the left till you see FOCUS after BOOMERANG. You can either take a selfie, switch to snap with the rear camera or take a short video by clicking on the icon on top of FOCUS on your screen.
You can get more creative after taking a shot or video by adding stickers, filters and text before adding it properly to your Instagram Stories.
Update is rolling out and Focus mode is available for iPhone SE, 6S, 6S+, 7, 7+, 8, 8+ and the iPhone X as well selected Android devices for now. I use a Samsung S8+ and I have the Focus portrait mode on my Instagram.
New Mention Sticker on Instagram
If you use Instagram Stories very well you will know it’s not easy seeing and clicking on mentions.
The new update brings mentions into stickers and all you have to do is open the stickers tray, tap on @mention sticker, type the name of the user or account you want to mention and select from the on-screen options. You can move the mention sticker around, rotate, reduce and increase the size as well.
