Before the leaks start coming out as expected, Google took a cue by teasing the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro during its I/O keynote on Wednesday. The upcoming flagships will be released this fall featuring next-gen Google Tensor chipset an updated design with an aluminium camera bar.

From the preview shown, Google didn’t change much on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro but updated what it introduced on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro features a complete aluminium design, ditching the glass look of their predecessor. The horizontal camera bar now wraps around the device and Google says the housing of the smartphone and camera bar is made from a single piece of “100 percent” recycled aluminium.

Just like the Pixel 6 Pro, the Pixel 7 Pro will come with a triple rear camera system while the Pixel 7 will feature two rear cameras just like the Pixel 6. It is expected the cameras on the Pixel 7 Pro will be a standard main shooter, an ultrawide and a telephoto lens.

In a tweet, Google confirmed that the Pixel 7 will come in Obsidian, Snow and Lemongrass colours. The Pixel 7 Pro will ship in Obsidian, Snow and Hazel colours. The devices will ship with Android 13 out of the box and Google says they “will bring even more helpful, personalized features to photos, videos, security, and speech recognition,” thanks to the next-generation Tensor chipset.
