Kojima Productions gave an in-depth look at Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at PlayStation’s first State of Play of the year on Wednesday. The trailer, which is almost 10 minutes long is just as crazy and unsettling as the first Death Stranding. The trailer opens with a disturbing surgery scene with Léa Seydoux watching on.
In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Norman Reedus will continue his deliveries as Sam in new locations accompanied by his BB and a new talking doll. Troy Baker returns as the villain and now has a new Joker-like look. The game will arrive in 2025 but no actual release date was provided but we can expect to have another trailer and release date as the launch draws closer.
In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kojima Production says: “Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam—with companions by his side—sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected?”
Death Stranding 2 was first revealed at The Game Awards in 2022 and is coming to the PS5 at launch. The original Death Stranding launched on the PS4, before making its way to the PC, and recently the iPhone and Mac.
It’s a busy period for Kojima Productions, apart from Death Stranding 2, the studio is also working on a “brand new action-espionage game” announced during the State of Play. A movie adaption is in the works for the original Death Stranding, while a new horror game OD is being developed for Xbox.
