You need to have a personal Facebook account first before you can create a page as you will be managing the page with your account. Creating a Facebook page is easy, click this link here to go the pages creation page and choose a category (Local Business or Place).

Now you need to select the exact category your kind of business falls under then you also feel the other required information, click on Get Started afterwards. I will be using a hotel for example, let’s assume I run a hotel and I need to create a business page.

Next you need to set up your business page by filling the required informations….infos like your website and what your hotel is about. Proceed by clicking on Save Info, upload your profile picture from your computer (choose a picture that showcases the beauty of your hotel as this is what people will see when they click on your page).

Click on Next, add the page to your Favourites list (not really necessary so you might want to skip that). Now you need to choose your Preferred Page Audience, this is very key as Facebook will use this info in suggesting your page for people to follow/like.

Click on the Save button and your business page is up and running. You need to add a cover photo that showcase some of the nice things your hotel offers, if you cannot design one go to a graphic artist to help you design one.

Now that your page is running you can start inviting people to like your page, tell your friends and family too. To engage people and keep them up to date about your business you need be sharing pictures and updates regularly.

You just created your page, it won’t reach the number of targeted audience you want it to reach straightway unless you run an advert. Facebook adverts are cheap to run and your business will reach a higher number of people in short time.

Look at the image below, I just published an update on my hotel’s page, this update will only reach the number of people that liked the page or number of people that my update was shared with…but what if I want it to reach a large pool of people what do I do? I simply click on the Boost Post button.

A dialogue box pops up. Choose your budget, ad duration and enter your credit card information to get your ad up and running. After this, you just wait and see the kind of exposure your page will have.
