After debuting a first gameplay trailer in June at the Summer Fest Game 2021 event, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring got a new 15 minutes gameplay footage at a Livestream event on Thursday. The gameplay footage was shown from a PC build which does not represent the final quality of the game but it revealed some combat and we also saw the map from the open-world Souls game.
The gameplay footage began with stunning visuals from the Lands Between, the world in the game as it is referred to. We saw combat against a giant dragon which was defeated by the player, and also interesting interaction between a cooking pot-looking-like creature with legs. Players were also shown how crafting items looked like in the game.
Being an open-world game, Elden Ring features an extensive map. Players can expect to have fun exploring the open world using markers and beacons as guides on the map to mark enemy spots and use as gameplay guides. Players can expect to see catacombs and dungeons with boss fights, traps and treasures during gameplay. The game can be played offline but it also has an online multiplayer with a co-op system, player-vs-player and other options.
A character name Melina, who is an ally was shown and we also got to see a boss, Godric the Golden – a scary giant man with many arms and axes, as the gameplay footage came to a close.
Elden Ring launches on February 22nd, 2022 on the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Pre-orders are underway and the Collector’s Edition includes the game, a Steelbook case, a digital soundtrack, a 40-page artbook and a 9″ statue of Malenia, Blade of Miquella. The Premium Collector’s Edition will have all content of the standard Collector’s Edition and a nice looking 1:1 replica helmet.
