TECNO has been expanding its tech portfolio over the past couple of years. The brand has launched the Spark 30 series, and we were able to get our hands on the Spark 30 Pro. The emphasized slogan in its communication “Transform our vision,” explains the impressive display and camera capabilities of the Spark 30 Pro.
The phone’s 120Hz eye care AMOLED display, 108 MP main camera, Mediatek G100 processor, Dolby Atmos dual speakers, and a five-year lag-free guarantee are some of its standout features. By combining these features, the Spark 30 Pro aims to give users an eye-catching experience whether they’re playing games, watching videos, or taking pictures.

Design and Build Quality

TECNO never ceases to impress us when it comes to the designs of their devices, and the Spark 30 Pro earns my respect for bringing fresh designs with it. It has a sleek, modern design with curved edges that make it comfortable to hold. The phone is mostly made of plastic, but it feels strong and durable. The back of the phone is especially tough and resistant to scratches and smudges.

Display

The Spark 30 Pro has a really nice screen. The device features a 6.78-inch 1080×2436 Full HD eye-care AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1700 nits of brightness. It’s a big, bright AMOLED display that looks great for every activity from scrolling through social media to watching videos and playing games.
The screen is smooth and responsive, and the colours are really vibrant. It’s also easy on the eyes, even when you’re using it for a long time. The fingerprint scanner is conveniently placed and works perfectly and quickly.

Performance
TECNO Spark 30 Pro 5G is a budget-friendly phone that offers amazing performance, considering its price. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio G100 processor, which handles everyday tasks like browsing the web, using social media, and playing mobile games smoothly.

While it might struggle with more demanding games or apps, the phone’s large 16GB RAM (8GB of RAM plus up to 8GB of virtual RAM) and 256GB storage ensure that it can handle multitasking and store plenty of files.
According to TECNO, the phone is endorsed by TÜV Rheinland for a 5-year lag-free experience. With an optimized storage space, the phone should perform well for years to come.

Camera
TECNO used a circular camera module design for the rear of the Spark 30 Pro. The main camera is 108 MP, similar to that of the Spark 20 Pro. The selfie camera of the Spark 30 Pro is 13 MP. This, for us, is a downgrade compared to its predecessor, the Spark 20 Pro, which features a 32 MP. However, the Spark 30 Pro camera’s overall performance was decent, as we were impressed with every image captured. The only challenge we faced was that of the selfie camera, as it wasn’t very clear and detailed, but that was expected.

Pictures taken using the front-facing camera
With the device, we were able to record videos in 1080p resolution at 30 fps, and the outcome of the video quality is decent, with good stabilization and colour accuracy.

Battery Life
Spark 30 Pro boasts an amazing battery life with its 5000mAh battery. The phone has a big battery that lasts all day, even with heavy use like watching videos or playing games. It comes with a 33W fast charge, taking about 60 minutes to fully charge. A special feature lets you charge the phone while playing games, which helps the battery last longer.
Audio Quality
The TECNO Spark 30 Pro with a single microphone and headphone jack features dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, delivering great sound. While playing Call of Duty, we could hear footsteps, gunshots, and other sound effects clearly. It was an immersive audio experience while watching movies on Netflix and listening to music via Audiomack.
Software and User Experience
TECNO’s Spark 30 Pro is a smartphone with a lot to offer. It runs on Android 14 with TECNO’s own skin, HiOS V14.5.0, which is easy to use and customize. The phone is fast and smooth, and it has some cool AI features like a voice assistant and AI-powered photo editing tools.

One of the standout features is the infrared remote control, which lets you control your TV and other appliances with your phone. While there were a few minor software issues, overall, the Spark 30 Pro is a good phone with a clean interface, decent performance, and strong security.

Price and Availability
The TECNO Spark 30 Pro is a good choice for people who want a phone that is affordable and has good features. The phone costs 280,000 naira and is available in authorized stores across Nigeria. Compared to other phones in the same price range, like the Infinix Hot 50 Pro, the Spark 30 Pro offers better value for money.
Final Verdict

The TECNO Spark 30 Pro is a great smartphone for young people and content creators. It has a good camera, a long-lasting battery, and plenty of storage. It’s also affordable and stylish and makes you stand out when holding it in public. However, it’s too early to say how well it will last over five years, as factors like software updates and hardware ageing can affect its performance.
