Spotify is giving you more power over its recommendations by letting you exclude individual tracks from your Taste Profile, the company announced on Wednesday. Previously, users could only exclude select playlists to inform recommendations on Spotify and personalize their listening experience.

For those who do not understand what a Taste Profile is, it is basically Spotify’s “interpretation of your taste, based on what you listen to and how you listen to it. It helps inform your recommendations, from Discover Weekly to your Home page, and personalizes experiences like Wrapped and Blend,” the company says.

When you exclude a track from your Taste Profile, the impact of both past and future streams of the song will be reduced on your Spotify recommendations. Excluding a track is very easy, and the feature is rolling out to Free and Premium users globally on Android, iOS, web, and desktop.

To exclude a track from your Spotify Taste Profile, start by selecting it. After selection, tap on the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen. You will now see a new option to “Exclude track from your taste profile.” Select it.

With the feature, Spotify is giving its users more personalisation options. The company says that eighty-one percent of its users cite personalisation as what they love most about Spotify. Earlier in September, the company finally rolled out support for lossless audio streaming after a long wait.
