Qualcomm has announced a new addition to the line of its chipset, the Snapdragon 712 and its an upgrade to the well-known Snapdragon 710. In comparison with the former, the newer chipset has a faster octa-core processor and is built on a 10nm process. Qualcomm says its CPU is well built for gaming and much more.

The Snapdragon 710 has powered a lot of smartphones delivering a smooth performance and mobile experience. The Snapdragon 712 shares similar specifications but comes with key upgrades. The image below shows the Snapdragon 712 vs Snapdragon 710.

The image difference as seen is the processor’s speed. The 8 cores Kyro 360 CPU runs at 2.3GHz speed on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 against the 2.2Ghz on the 710. There is also the faster Quick Charge 4+ which charges batteries from 0 to 50 percent in 15 minutes and improved Bluetooth audio due to the Truewireless Stereo Plus and Broadcast Audio technologies.
The Adreno 616 GPU is maintained as well as the Hexagon 685 DSP. It integrates X15 LTE Modem for lightning-fast 4G LTE connectivity and supports 10-bits colour depth to capture high quality images and shoot 4K videos.
