OnePlus will be holding an online launch event for its OnePlus 8 series come April 14th. A OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to be launched with 120Hz display, Snapdragon 865 chipset, 5G technology and reverse wireless charging. The company’s CEO confirmed the wireless charging support and also described how it works in an interview with The Verge.
OnePlus Warp Charging technology is well known in the mobile industry and it needs no introduction. No OnePlus phone, however, has been made to support wireless charging. In an interview with The Verge, CEO Pete Lau confirmed its upcoming “ultraflagship” phone which is expected to be the OnePlus 8 Pro will support wireless charging. OnePlus 30W wireless charger is said to be able to charge the battery of the OnePlus 8 Pro from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes.
The Warp Charge 30 wireless charger will be exclusive to OnePlus smartphones but the company says it is open to granting its licensing to other mobile companies. According to a Twitter Leak, the charger will cost around €70 in EU. CEO Lau did not confirm this however only saying “we’ve done what we can to make the price of the charger as reasonable as possible.”
In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, the company says it is following every measure and that this would not affect its launch or impact its business in the long run.
