Microsoft has increased the price of its Xbox Series X and Series S, as well as the prices of new games and accessories worldwide. The Xbox Series X, previously priced at $499, will now retail for $599, while the Series S, which previously started at $299, will now retail for $379.99.

“We understand that these changes are challenging, and they were made with careful consideration given market conditions and the rising cost of development, the company said in a support post. “Looking ahead, we continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and ensuring value for Xbox players.”

The 1TB Xbox Series S model is now priced at $429.99, while the digital edition of the Xbox Series X will now cost $549.99. The 2TB Xbox Series X galaxy black special edition model is now priced at a massive $729.99. Prices on Xbox gaming accessories have also been raised. The base Xbox controller is now priced at $64.99, while the wireless headset now costs $119.99.

“We also expect to adjust the pricing of some of our new, first-party games starting this holiday season to $79.99,” the company said. “Those titles purchased on the Xbox Store have the benefit of Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to buy once and play on console and PC at no additional cost.”

The price increases apply to all markets, and new prices are now available for the Xbox Series X|S consoles and accessories in Europe, the UK, Australia, and other countries. Sony also recently increased the price of its PlayStation 5 in Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
