Marvel’s Wolverine, previously pegged for a fall release window, now has a launch date. In a six-second trailer showing nothing more than a date, Marvel revealed the game will be arriving on the PS5 on September 15. There was anticipation that Sony might reveal more about the game in its first State of Play of 2026, which took place a couple of weeks ago, but it was surprisingly missing from the lineup.
Developed by Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Wolverine is the latest first-party title from the studio, known for developing some of Sony’s most recent blockbuster games, including the Marvel Spiderman series.
Crucially, with the September 15 release date, Insomniac Games will have some breathing space as it won’t be going up against the juggernaut, GTA VI, that is expected to arrive on November 19, provided there is no further delay from Rockstar Games.
Marvel’s Wolverine was first revealed in 2021 during a PlayStation State of Play. Up until last September, when a new gameplay trailer was revealed, there hadn’t been anything else from Sony, which is surprising for a first-party title.
