The launch of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed yet again – the game is now set to release on 19th November 2026.

“We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve,” Rockstar Games announced in a statement on Thursday. “We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.”

The game was initially set for a fall 2025 release window after Rockstar released its first trailer. Earlier this year, it was delayed until May 2026, with the developer citing “extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve” for the decision.

GTA VI is the sequel to GTA V, which was released more than 12 years ago. The game will take place in a modern Vice City, featuring two protagonists – Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. It will be released on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Rockstar Games did not provide further information, but a second trailer is expected to be released not too far away. Last week, the company fired between 30 and 40 employees “who were found to be distributing and discussing confidential information in a public forum.”
