Spotify is rolling out a new “Listening stats” feature that basically summarizes your music listening experience in a week. The feature is similar to the annual Wrapped, and listeners can share weekly stats directly from the Spotify app with friends via the new messaging feature, through WhatsApp, or on Instagram.
“Available to Free and Premium users in more than 60 markets worldwide, this new feature shows your top artists and songs from the past four weeks, and it serves up playlists inspired by what you love or tracks you might want to queue up next,” Spotify shared in a news post. “Each week, it also includes a special highlight that captures what makes your listening unique, whether it’s a milestone, a new discovery, or a fan moment.”
To see your weekly stats, tap on your profile image to open the menu. Select the new “listening stats” tab. From there, you can see your weekly insights showcasing top artists, songs, and many more. You can also share the stats if you choose to.
While the new listening stats are a helpful feature, users may not be as interested in it as the yearly release of Wrapped. There is also a danger that the weekly stats might water down the excitement and surprise associated with Wrapped.
