For those who are looking to win lotteries to travel abroad, we have now come up with a list of countries offering visa lottery at the moment. Every year 50,000 (now 55,000) Permanent Resident cards are made available by the US government to be won by people from “underrepresented countries” which have been less represented in employment and family-based preference categories in the US. As a result, countries with few immigrants to the US are eligible but there are also some exceptions. Below is the list of countries offering visa lotteries.

The list below shows the countries whose natives are eligible for DV-2019, grouped by geographic region. Dependent areas overseas are included within the region of the governing country. This list does not include categories such as refugees, asylum seekers, NACARA beneficiaries or previous diversity immigrants. Therefore, even though nations like Cuba, Ukraine, Russia, Iran, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and Nigeria have sent more than 50,000 immigrants in the past years, they are still eligible.

For DV-2020, natives of the following countries are not eligible to apply, because more than 50,000 natives of these countries immigrated to the United States in the previous five years:

UPDATE: President Trump has added Nigeria, Myanmar, Eriteria, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan and Tanzania to the United States restricted travel ban list. Henceforth, people from these countries will not be able to migrate to the US and Immigrant visa will not be issued to them. There only be students and tourist visas.
