Instagram is rolling out some new features it is bringing to the social media platform. Notes, a new way for users to share their thoughts, is coming to the app with other features like Candid Stories and Group Profiles.

Starting with Notes, people can now share short posts that are not more than 60 characters, including emojis with people they follow back or the ones on their Close Friends list. Notes will appear at the top of the inbox for 24hrs, and the replies will be moved to the DMs. Instagram says Notes “give people a casual and spontaneous way to express themselves and connect with each other.”

Instagram is also working on ways to make Stories engaging with some new features. The “Add Yours” sticker is getting a nominations option. Instagram is testing an update that will let users invite friends to participate in an Add Yours story by tapping on a “pass it on” button. Another new feature Instagram is testing is Candid Stories. Instagram calls Candid “a new way for you and your friends to capture and share what you’re doing right now in a story that’s only visible to those who also share their own.” A Candid can be captured from the Stories camera, using the Add Yours Sticker or from a daily notification reminder that starts after a user after a user shares their first candid. Candid Stories is also being tested on Facebook, and users can turn off the daily reminder.

Lastly, Instagram is improving the way group works. Group Profiles are being tested, which will allow people to share posts and stories with one group profile with friends. People can create and add users to group profiles. Any content shared on the group page will only be visible to members. Collaborative Collections is also in the works, and it is “a way for people to connect with friends over their shared interests by saving posts to a collaborative collection in your group or 1:1 DMs.” To start a collaborative collection, save a post from the feed or the one shared in the DM with a friend.
