Saros, the next title from Returnal studio, Housemarque, launches on the PlayStation 5 on March 20th, 2026. The studio announced on Wednesday during PlayStation’s State of Play.

Saros features a lot of elements from Returnal, including the environment and gameplay. The gameplay trailer showcased on Wednesday feels like a return to the same world from Returnal.

Saros takes place in a hostile alien planet called Carccosa. The game’s protagonist, Arjun Devraj, is played by Rahul Kohli. There are unique weapons and abilities available to players as they explore different biomes in Carcosa. There is a “Second Chance” ability that the developer is adding to the game for Arjun. Once the feature is unlocked, the player can use Eclipse corruption energy to bring Arjun back to life immediately on first death.

“This is one small part of the permanent-progression systems we have added in Saros, which will allow you to always come back stronger after each death,” Housemarque wrote in a PlayStation blog post.

Saros will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro when it launches next March.
