The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL are official. Google’s 11th generation of Pixel phones is powered by the Tensor G6 chip and features significant performance and camera upgrades over last year’s Pixel 10 series.
In terms of design, the Pixel 11 is unchanged from its predecessor, with edge-to-edge glass across the camera bar on all three phones. Google says the camera bar thickness on the Pixel 11 has been reduced by 40 percent, making the bump unnoticeable when paired with a Pixel case. The Pixel 11 comes in Pistachio, Hibiscus, Frost, and Obsidian colourways. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are available in Canyon, Fog, Olive, and an all-matte Obsidian colour option.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL can go up to 3,600 nits of brightness, and the display comes with a new anti-scratch coating which Google says provides more than double scratch resistance over the previous generation.
Under the hood, all three phones are powered by Google’s most powerful and latest Tensor G6 chip, with a base 256GB of storage. “Tensor G6 features an upgraded CPU for 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches,” Google shared in a blog post. “Packing 50% more TPU compute and paired with the latest Gemini Nano model, Google Tensor G6 processes on-device AI tasks up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy.”
Paired with the new Titan M3 security chip, the Tensor G6 processor works to deliver the “most robust, proactive defense system yet, bringing post-quantum cryptography to secure boot” on the Pixel 11 series. The Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro are compatible with Qi 2.2 25W wireless charging, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL delivers 15 hours of battery life in 15 minutes on wired charging.
As expected, all three phones feature upgraded camera systems. The Pixel 11 has a new, larger 48MP main sensor that Google says delivers 56 percent more light sensitivity for great photos and videos. The 5x telephoto lens on the device is capable of 30x Super Zoom thanks to the Tensor G6 chip. The 48MP main sensor on the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL now has a larger image sensor that delivers 30 percent more light for cleaner photos and videos. Portrait mode is now up to 5x, while Pro Zoom is up to 120x.
There is a new HiLight glow feature that uses coloured LED lights built around the camera flash to notify users of timely, glanceable information. It works with Gemini, and custom colours can also be assigned for incoming calls to particular contacts the user desires.
The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL start at $899, $1099, and $1299 respectively, a $100 jump on each device from last year’s Pixel 10 series.
