The last TECNO Phantom smartphone was released two years ago, after skipping the Phantom 7, the Chinese OEM launched the Phantom 8. Since that time, there has been a lot of rumours with lots of blogs speculating TECNO had cancelled its Phantom line of phones, others were curious and the question on their lips was When is the next TECNO Phantom coming out?
For once, it didn’t make sense to think the Chinese manufacturer had cancelled its premium smartphone line. The rumours are finally laid to bed and camera image samples from the next Phantom smartphone have been leaked by Tech YouTuber, Knewkeed. How he got them, we are not sure but he said the source is legit and indeed the next Phantom is coming.
TECNO Mobile’s Twitter account posted a fast movie GIF yesterday with what looks like some specifications of the next TECNO Phantom, expected to be the Phantom 9. This is a clear indication that indeed the launch of the next Phantom 9 is closer.
Eric Okafor @Knewkeed further tweeted two images suggesting the Phantom 9 is capable of taking great wide-angle pictures.
Possible TECNO Phantom 9 Specifications
From the GIF tweeted by the official account, the Phantom 9 will have a 6.4” full display AMOLED screen. It will be running on Android 9 Pie with a 6GB RAM and a 128GB internal memory.
Looking closely at the GIF, an in-display fingerprint is seen, the first of its kind from the Chinese OEM. The Phantom 9 is expected to be the Transsion-owned company best smartphone till date.
For the camera, an AI triple camera is expected as the rear camera. The GIF did not tell what the selfie camera will be but it shows a dual front flashlight.
Previous leaks concerning TECNO devices have been legit and this should be taken seriously. We expect more about the next TECNO Phantom to be revealed in the coming days.
When is it going to be released?
