Activision today showcased a short trailer announcing Call of Duty: Vanguard, the next game in the series. The official worldwide reveal will take place August 19 at 10:30AM PT inside a Call of Duty: Warzone event titled the Battle of Verdansk.
Details are sketchy from the trailer but we see footage of battlefields that looks like World War II. Four different locations were shown but not much is revealed about what happened on these locations. Players who want to know more about the new game will have to log in early on August 19 in the free-to-play battle royale Warzone game.
Sledgehammer Games, the Activision-owned studio which spearheaded the development of Call of Duty: Advance Warfare and Call of Duty: WWII is currently working on the game.
The announcement comes as Activision Blizzard remains under fire with allegations of encouraging a toxic workplace environment where women are subjected to sexual harassment, California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing filed a lawsuit against the publisher in July with respect to the allegations.
