Nearly a year after the launch of the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition controller for iPhone, Backbone announced the PlayStation Android version today. The accessory company says the reception it received since launching the controller for iOS “has been incredibly exciting,” also calling it “one of the most popular gaming features” on its platform.
Just like the iPhone Edition of the controller, the Android version follows the design of the PlayStation DualSense wireless controller. It has the same black and white colour theme with transparent face buttons. Those already owning the Pulse 3D wireless headphone designed for the PlayStation can connect it to the controller’s 3.5mm audio jack.
Just like the iOS Edition, the Android version of the Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller is designed to work with the PlayStation Remote Play app. The app is available for download on Google Play and can be used to play PS4 and PS5 games with the Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller.
Apart from PlayStation games, owners of the Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller can also use it to play Google Play and App Store games that support it. Supporting games include Call of Duty: Mobile, Fortnite, Diablo Immortal, and many more.
The Android Edition of the controller is sold for the same $99.99 price as the iOS version. The controller is available in the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand and will be coming soon to Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
