Apple today officially announced its next hardware event. Tagged “peek performance,” a short video teaser was shown with various colours on the Apple logo that didn’t reveal much. The event will be live-streamed on March 8 at 1PM ET / 10AM PT.
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple could announce an updated iPhone SE with 5G support, a faster processor, and improved cameras. The design is expected to be similar to the current iPhone SE that was launched in April 2020, which means this year’s model could have Face ID.
Another product that might be unveiled is a new iPad Air with 5G support and a faster CPU. Apple is also expected to roll out iOS 15.4 officially in March which will add support for Face ID while people are wearing masks, making it easier to unlock the iPhones and the iPads as the pandemic continues. Apple will debut new emoji and the long-awaited Universal Control which will let users use a single keyboard and trackpad across multiple iPads and Macs.
Apple has a host of products lined up for release this year such as a new Mac with Apple chips,iMac, the iPhone 14 series, AirPods, Apple Watches, and Mac Pro. These products are expected to be released later in the year but not in March.
