Apple on Tuesday announced a new Creator Studio subscription that bundles six creative apps for $12.99 per month or $129 per year. The new subscription bundle will launch on the App Store on Wednesday, January 28, with a one-month free trial.

Apple Creator Studio includes access to Final Cut Pro, Logic Pr,o and Pixelmator Pro on Mac and iPad; Motion, Compressor, and MainStage on Mac; and premium content for Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and later Freeform for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. College students and educators can subscribe for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year. Apple already offers the Mac versions of Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage as a one-time purchase on the App Store, and interested users will still have that option, instead of the bundle.

As part of the announcement, Apple announced that Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad will be getting new video editing tools and intelligent features. With Transcript Search, users can easily find soundbites by simply typing in the search bar. Visual Search is also another new feature that lets creatives pinpoint exact moments in footages instead of wasting time skimming through. Editing videos to the rhythm of music is now more fun thanks to Beat Detection that uses an AI model from Logic Pro to instantly analyse music tracks and display the beat grid in the timeline so editors can align cuts to the rhythm.

Pixelmator Pro comes to the iPad for the first time with optimisation for touch and Apple Pencil. There is a new Montage Maker Final Cut Pro for iPad that lets users start their edit in just a few seconds, thanks to AI.

Other apps, such as Logic Pro, Motion, and MainStage, are getting new intelligent features on the Mac and iPad. Later, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform will be receiving premium content on the Mac, iPad, and iPhone as part of the Creative Studio bundle.

Apple notes that Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform will remain free for all users to create, edit, and collaborate with others.
