Apple on Monday announced the next-generation AirTag, which features a longer Bluetooth range, improved findability, and a louder speaker. Pricing for the new AirTag remains the same as its predecessor – $29 for one, and $99 for a four-pack.
The new AirTag is powered by Apple’s second-generation Ultra Wideband chip that is found in the iPhone 17 lineup, iPhone Air, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch Series 11. Findability is improved on the new AirTag thanks to an upgraded Bluetooth chip and Precision Finding, which uses haptic feedback and audio feedback. Precision Finding is available on Apple Watch Series 9 or later, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later.

Apple says the new AirTag is 50 percent louder than the previous generation, meaning users can now hear it from 2 times farther away.
As usual, the AirTag works with the Find My network, which shows the location of connected accessories when paired with the iPhone. The new AirTag also integrates with Share Item Location, “an iOS feature designed to help users recover a misplaced item by temporarily and securely sharing its location with trusted third parties, such as airlines, so they can assist in recovering delayed luggage or other lost items.” As of today, Apple says it has partnered with more than 50 airlines to privately and securely accept Share Item Location links.
Since its introduction in 2021, the AirTag has been one of the best-selling Apple accessories, according to third-party statistics.
The new AirTag is available today, and it comes with free personalised engraving on apple.com and the Apple Store app.
