PayPal’s Chief Operating Officer, Bill Ready has announced the company has partnered with Google to have PayPal in Android Pay as a payment means wherever Android Pay is accepted online or in stores. Recently, Google announced it has integrated Android Pay with more banks in the world; it is no surprise an agreement has also now been reached with PayPal.

This is a move which benefits both party. Google’s Android Pay is in competition with the likes of Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, while this also gives PayPal the opportunity to extend its mobile reach to consumers who shop and buy on their mobile devices.
In the post by Bill Ready, he further said;
Coming soon, consumers in the U.S. will be able to use PayPal in Android Pay at retailers from Walgreens to Dunkin’ Donuts. This partnership will enable our customers to pay across even more contexts, and will extend PayPal’s mobile leadership and reach as consumers become more comfortable shopping and buying on their mobile devices. Last year alone, PayPal processed $102 billion in mobile payment volume and two billion mobile payment transactions. Initially, users will be able to pay using their PayPal balance and over the coming months we will add the ability to use cards that have been stored with PayPal, enabled by our recent tokenization partnerships with major card networks.
PayPal and Google are not just partnering as consumers have been able to pay with their PayPal account when shopping on Google’s Play store.
