Your worst enemy might, one day, be your best friend. This was what happened some hours ago. Senate Leader Ibn N’Allah, who sometimes ago raised a motion on censorship on social media, has come back to fight for us. Last week, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) directed Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to increase Internet data tariff and Nigerians are already expressing their dissatisfaction with this directive.
But fortunately for us, our one-time-hated senator, Ibn N’Allah, raised a motion today in the house about the proposed data charges increment, and lucky for us, other senators in the house condemned it and resolved that NCC halt the new tariff.
These are some of the tweets confirming the decision in the senate:
Senate now resolves to halt the new tariff approval.
