As we move closer to the launch of next-gen consoles, Microsoft has announced an Xbox Games Showcase event for July 23. The event will begin at 9am Pacific Time / 12PM Eastern Time and it will be broadcasted live on xbox.com, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.
Microsoft is expected to showcase upcoming first-party games including Halo Infinite. Microsoft currently has a total of 15 Xbox Game Studios dedicated to its first-party games which include Double Fine, Ninja Theory and Obsidian Entertainment. Fans will be eager to see upcoming games for the Xbox Series X from these studios.
Microsoft had its first showcase event in May but it fell below fans expectations, the event showcased games from third-party studios and only showed trailers instead of actual gameplay. General Manager of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg responded to queries on Twitter to clear the air, he explained “clearly we set some wrong expectations & that’s on us. We appreciate all the feedback & can assure you we will take it all in & learn as a team.”
There are indications Microsoft might showcase Fable 4 and a new Perfect Dark. The event is expected to reveal more on how games will be on Microsoft’s next-gen console.
