Not only did Microsoft announced new Surface Pro laptops and Studio devices, but it also unveiled a new noise-cancelling Surface Headphones which had been in development for 3 years. The Surface Headphones comes in only light grey colour and Microsoft says it will be shipping in time for the coming holidays.
The Headphones features a premium build and supports Microsoft’s Cortana voice AI. The headphones can be charged via its Type C port and its detachable 3.5mm cable.
It produces a rich audio quality, has Bluetooth connectivity and on-ear touch controls. According to TheVerge, the over-ear, wireless Surface Headphones feature premium sound and adjustable noise cancellation, giving users precise control over how much outside noise is let in as they listen. To change the level of noise cancellation, you turn the dial on the left ear cup. A dial on the right side adjusts volume as seen in the video below.
“They slip comfortably over your ears to surround you with spectacular sound quality and 13 levels of ambient noise control,” Microsoft’s press release says. “Designed with collaboration in mind, there are 2 beam-forming microphones on each ear cup, 8 microphones in total, all helping you focus on the sounds you want to capture allowing for excellent call experiences.”

The new Surface Headphones supports fast charging and lasts up to 15 hours of battery charge at a single charge. Microsoft says a 5 minutes charge produces more than an hour music listening time on the headphones.
The new Headphones retails for $350 and will only be available in the US at launch.
