Earlier in the year, Google introduced a Gemini side panel on Gmail that lets users ask the AI assistant specific questions about their email messages. The feature is already available on the web and Android devices but is now coming to the iOS, Google announced in a blog post.
With Gmail Q&A, users can ask Gemini to “show you unread messages or messages from a specific sender, summarize emails about a topic in your inbox, and even answer general questions from search, all without having to leave your inbox.” The feature is designed to help people enhance their productivity on the go with Google’s Gemini AI assistant. To access the feature, users must have smart features and personalisation turned on in their Gmail settings.

The Gmail Q&A feature is only available to Google Workspace customers with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium and Google One AI Premium. The feature is gradually rolling out, and it might take a few weeks to appear for some users.
Earlier in the week, Google announced the release of updated summary cards to individuals on Android and iOS.
