Game of Thrones Season 6 episode 3 review: Is Jon Snow the “Oathbreaker”?

Jon Snow

Jon Snow is back, back from the dead where he could not remember seeing anything in the land of the dead. Ser Davos probably came back to prepare his body for burning only to be startled at the sight of a blanched-looking naked Jon Snow. What really caught the eye in this episode was Brandon Stark’s flashback vision thanks to the Three-Eyed Raven as usual.

Bran took us back in time to when a young Ned Stark, his father almost lost his life when fighting a couple of Targaryen knights defending a tall tower called Tower of Joy. Fortunately he was the last man standing, Ned Stark heard a scream from the tower and was on his way to find out who when the Three-Eyed Raven cut-short the vision. Everyone got pissed including Bran himself. The episode proved to be frustrating with the usual mini-cliffhangers since the new season premiered.

Poor Tommen has to be the most powerless king so far as he does not have authority over Westeros again. The power of the High Sparrow and the invisible gods continue to grow stronger by day getting Jamie and Cersei even more livid.

Arya is still being tortured despite giving all the right answers to Jaqen H’ghar questions but the faceless gods showed little compassion by returning her sight back to her.

Varys is using his little birds very well and he found out who sponsored the Sons of Harpy in destroying Mereen. Well, they are no other than the three rich neighbouring cities Daenerys thought she conquered with the unsullied. Daenerys meanwhile was taken to Vas Dothrak by the Dothrakis where she was told by old widows of dead Khals to get used to being with them if she’s favoured by the elders since she wandered away when she should have followed the Dothraki tradition of dead Khals’ widows.

The episode did not end not until Lord Snow executed those who stabbed him and “ended his watch” to the surprise of the guys at Castle Black. Jon snow might be the Oathbreaker.
