DJI today announced the successor to its Osmo Mobile 3, the Osmo Mobile 4. The smartphone video stabilizer shares similar design and buttons with its predecessor but DJI has now introduced two magnetic mounts.
Osmo Mobile 4 features a magnetic phone clamp which wraps around the phone and also a magnetic ring holder which makes it very easy to detach and attach the phone from the stabilizer. It is also good for those who do filming on-the-go.
The DJI OM4 retains the foldable design just like the OM3 and features the same 15-hour battery which is powered via the USB-C port. According to DJI, the OM4 comes with upgraded motors over the OM3 and weighs slightly less.
In terms of software upgrade, there are new features like DynamicZoom (a creative zoom shot that delivers a Hollywood feel with minimal effort); CloneMe Pano (a feature creates one epic panorama from several photos, pausing so you can get to the next frame and strike a pose) and a Spin Shot Mode Movement that spins the camera in a barrel roll effect. It should be noted the Osmo Mobile 3 performs these functions with a bit of mastery from the user.
Osmo Mobile 4 is $20 more expensive than the Osmo Mobile 3 at $149 and it features more accessory than what’s found in its predecessor with the addition of the Magnetic Ring Holder and the Magnetic Phone Clamp. It is available for purchase on the DJI website.
