Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be the first title from the popular Activision franchise to launch on day one on Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft announced on Tuesday in an Xbox Wire blog post bringing an end to speculations concerning the availability of the next Call of Duty game on Game Pass at launch.

“We’re excited to confirm that Game Pass members will be able to jump into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on day one with Game Pass,” Megan Spurr, senior community lead at Xbox Game Pass shared. The game will be revealed on June 9, 2024, according to an associated trailer and it will be available on consoles and PC.

The live-action trailer portrays political figures Geroge H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Sadam Hussein which gives a nod to a ‘90s Gulf War setting for the next instalment in the Call of Duty franchise.

After Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard last October, Xbox chief Phil Spencer warned that it would take some time to start seeing Activision games on Game Pass. Diablo IV made its way to Game Pass on March 28, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be the next Activision title to join the subscription service. Call of Duty remains one of the best-selling gaming franchises and Microsoft is taking a gamble adding it to Game Pass on day one to boost subscription numbers.
