As expected, Call of Duty is returning for its annual release, and the next instalment in the series has now been confirmed as Black Ops 7. Activision shared a teaser trailer, promising “the most mind-bending” Black Ops ever. Treyarch and Raven Software are developing the game, marking the first consecutive release within the Black Ops series.

According to the official game synopsis. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set more than 40 years after the events of Black Ops 6. “The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by violent conflict and psychological warfare following the events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. Wielding cutting-edge technology, David Mason and his team must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponises fear above all else.”

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, you will be able to play solo or with friends in “a thrilling and innovative Co-op campaign.” The game will feature brand-new maps, “near-future” weaponry and more zombies. According to Matt Cox, General Manager of Call of Duty, Black Ops 7 will deliver “the full Call of Duty package.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will release on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and on PC via Xbox PC, Battle.net and Steam. It will also be available on day one on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Activision says a full reveal is coming later this summer.
