This 3D-printed house costed $10,134 and was completely built within 24 hours

3D-printing is one of the latest breathtaking breakthrough in technology. Guns, cars, houses, gadgets, and appendages — all have been 3D-printed. Days ago Apis Co, a San Francisco-based startup, showed the world that it must fully adopt 3D-printing in the construction of buildings, by building a 400-square-foot 3D-printed house within 24 hours.

This house, which was constructed in a Russian town, doesn’t have any of its parts prefabricated; everything used in its construction was made and used on that very day — of course expect the furniture inside the house.

In order to achieve this great feat, Apis Co deployed a mobile 3D-printer in the printing of the house’s concrete walls, partitions and building envelope. And after the erection of the house, the roofing, wiring, painting and installation of the needed home appliances were manually done.

Definitely a 400-square-foot house is not really a big house that can accommodate an extended family, but it is sure a perfect house for a small nuclear family, minimalists and people that love a tiny home.

According to Apis Co the 3D-printed house costed only $10,134, with the doors and windows taking a large chunk of the cost. Needless to say, the cost of the land on which the house was built wasn’t included in the $10,134.

On checking the interior of the 3D-printed house, it is adorned with the necessary home appliances, including a curve TV that fits the curve wall of the house. Apis Co claimed it can build a bigger house than this tiny one, if requested for by clients.
