A new set of photos identified to be that of Gionee’s next flagship smartphone, M7 Plus, were leaked by the company insider, Evan Bass on Twitter, showing the body design as well as features of the handset. Gionee, which is a Chinese smartphone maker sited in Guangdong, China, recently released two smartphones in its M-series; these are M7 as well as M7 Power. Now, the launch of another device, M7 Plus, in the series is on the horizon.
Features of the Leaked Gionee M7 Plus
As regards design, Gionee seems to have adopted a more distinct approach with respect to materials. Evan’s leaked images of Gionee M7 Plus show the front as well as back of the handset. While front panel reveals a comparatively simple body design with thin bezels, the back seems to be designed by combining a stainless steel as well as leather. A large leather piece with patterns beautifies the rear, a feature similar to the 2015 LG G4 model, which should still give room for wireless charging.

Also in the rear, there is a dual-camera feature that has a LED flash with a dual tone. Furthermore, Gionee M7 Plus has fingerprint scanner that is square shaped. The golden plate that the fingerprint scanner and the cameras are placed on represents another striking feature at the rear, which complements the leather black.
From the leak, it can be seen that the smartphone will offer a full- screen display of 6.43 inches that could be the manufacturer’s biggest 18:9 phone screen up till now, once the commercialization of the device is done; though it still remains a mystery if the panel will be of the AMOLED or LCD type. We are not privy to more details, but owing to the fact that the phone will probably complement the recently launched M7 and M7 Power, we can expect a similar litany of specifications. This implies Gionee M7 Plus could feature a RAM of 4 gigabyte or 6 gigabyte and internal storage of 64 gigabyte. In the same vein, the dual back cameras may be the primary 16MP sensor as well as the 8MP sensor offered in the regular M7.
With respect to the power of the processor, Gionee has employed various processors in M7 as well as M7 Power; thus, we cannot really say what processor spec will be used in the bigger model. Nevertheless, owing to M7 Plus’ bigger size, we expect a battery capacity that is within a range of 4000 – 5000mAh.
Talking about operating system, it is very likely that M7 Plus will feature Android 7.1 (Nougat) just like the duo of M7 and M7 Power, although an Oreo update will be released on the phablet in the near future. It is still unclear when Gionee will release the new smartphone and its pricing structure; the availability of premium materials, however, may push price up in comparison with M7 Power.
