As the global memory shortage continues to hit hard, Apple on Thursday announced price hikes to most of its hardware products. The price hikes did not affect the iPhone, but there is no guarantee it won’t see a similar rise in price in the near future. The price hike is coming on the back of Tim Cook’s recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, where he mentioned that “price increases are unavoidable.”

“The consumer electronics industry is facing an unprecedented challenge. The rapid expansion of AI data centers has created an extraordinary surge in demand for memory and storage. We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” Apple said in a statement to CNBC.
“We know this is not welcome news, and we are working tirelessly to find solutions,” the company added.
