Elon Musk has announced that Twitter is working on a navigation system that will let users swipe between recommended and followed tweets, trends, topics, etc. In a tweet, Musk said the feature would arrive in January but didn’t reveal an exact launch date.
While engaging with users in December, Musk agreed with a suggestion from a user, noting that the “main timeline should allow for an easy sideways swipe between top, latest, trending and topics that you follow.” Currently, Twitter allows switching between the chronological timeline that shows the newest tweets in the right order and the Home timeline that shows recommended tweets from accounts you don’t follow. Tapping on the stars icon in the upper right corner of the home screen brings out the option to switch timelines.
If the new navigation system is eventually released, it will be easier for users to move around easily while looking for trends, topics, tweets, and many more. Twitter has been rolling out a lot of changes lately, most recently, the view counts on tweets.
