On Friday, Sony announced a massive price hike for the PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player globally, citing “continued pressures in the global economic landscape.” This represents the second price increase for the US in less than a year after having increased the prices of its PS5 consoles in August.
The PS5 disc edition and the digital edition get a $100 price hike and will now cost $649.99 and $599.99, respectively. The PS5 Pro gets the biggest jump by $150 and will now cost $899.99.

“We know that price changes impact our community, and after careful evaluation, we found this was a necessary step to ensure we can continue delivering innovative, high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide,” the company said in a PlayStation blog post.
The new prices take effect from April 2, 2026.
