We now know the official Samsung phones getting Android Pie update and the timeline for its release. This information was revealed over the Samsung Members app. With a critical look at the list, we can see the Samsung phones getting Android Pie update as soon as possible. The phone maker also pointed out the features the update offers with the Android 9 and One UI.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus devices will get the Android 9 Pie update by the end of this month. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 8, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will receive their updates in February and March respectively.

April will also witness another Pie update as the Galaxy Tab S4 (10.5 in), Galaxy A6, A6 Plus, A7, A8 Star, and the A9. Other devices to receive updates during that month include the Galaxy J2, J2 Core, J4, J6 Plus and the Galaxy On7 (2018).

Devices such as the Galaxy J4 Plus, J6 and J8 will get updates as soon as soon as March. On the other hand, the Galaxy J7 (2017), J7 Neo and the J7 Duo will receive the Pie update in July.

The rollout continues in August with the Galaxy Tab S3 (9.7 in) getting its update. However, the Tab A (10.5 in) will be the last Samsung product to get the update in October.

Taking this timeline into account, Samsung promises to provide a “continued great experience” instead of quick update releases. There is possible as Google will likely launch its next version, the Android 10Q.

Besides, the tech company confirmed that there might be changes to the schedule and devices concerned if problems should be detected while working on the update. Samsung also plans to stop an update after the official rollout in case there is a need to perform urgent repairs.

The company promises to keep its consumers informed about such decisions via the Samsung Members app. It also claims to have begun working on improving the user experience after receiving feedback from its users.

Concerning the changes that will accompany the update, Samsung claims it will offer the recent One UI for Android. This means a new look and features for the selected devices.

With this new update, consumers will be able to focus on the task at hand as the items on the screen will be organized for easy navigation. The update will also provide Night mode to permit the device’s use at night or in low light environment.

The update also promises an improved proprietary Samsung Keyboard with enhanced features. The tech company has also improved the notification panel features for easy access. The performance and power saving modes will also get updated.

New clock styles and settings will be available on the Always On Display feature. The Samsung DeX will also enjoy some changes as it will allow users to users to use their phones or devices when in DeX mode when connected to a TV or monitor. It will also permit the use of HDMI adapters. Other features such as Bixby, Samsung Health, the Gallery and so on will also receive significant improvements.
