Sony is holding back-to-back PlayStation State of Play events on Thursday, September 3. The first State of Play will feature updates and announcements from PlayStation’s first-party studios and its third-party partners. It will conclude with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation from developer Square Enix.
The State of Play will immediately be followed by a new episode of State of Play Japan, hosted by Yuki Kaji. The broadcast will provide deep dives on upcoming titles from studios in Japan and Asia.
The broadcast will be livestreamed on the official PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channels, starting at 6:00 AM PT / 9:00 AM ET / 3:00 PM CEST / 10:00 PM JST.
Sony’s next major release is Marvel’s Wolverine, and it launches on Saturday, September 15. There have been a lot of teasers and trailers released for the game, and it is not expected to be part of Thursday’s lineup.
Since it was revealed in 2024, there has been nothing from Naughty Dog about its upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Interestingly, on Monday, the studio announced it has wrapped up filming for the title. It is not known if we will see more from Naughty Dog during Thursday’s State of Play, but it will be a welcome addition to the lineup if it is included.
