The post-FIFA era for EA Sports’ flagship football game is here. After ending its long-standing partnership with FIFA last year, the company has announced its rebranded EA Sports FC franchise will launch with early access on September 22nd before a global launch on September 29th. EA Sports FC 24 will launch on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The Standard Edition has Manchester City’s Erling Haaland as its cover star it will cost $69.99 on current-gen consoles and the PS4 and Xbox One. EA is marketing it as a cross-gen title with “dual entitlement”. PC players must pay $69.99 to have the game, while it costs 59.99 on Nintendo Switch. The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99, and its perks include 4600 FC Points and up to 7 days early access. For the first time, Women are also playable in the Ultimate Team.

EA says its Frostbite engine has been enhanced and includes Hypermotion V technology. “This unlocks authentic full-team movement as well as 1,200 signature run styles so fans can experience the unique ways that top players move,” EA says. Thanks to the Hypermotion V technology, EA says it can create animation for the game in just a few days. A new feature, “playstyles”, which utilizes real-world data to improve players, has been added. “PlayStyles+ enhance those signature abilities to world-class standard — think Haaland’s Power Shot — reflecting elite players’ abilities to play at a level that few others can reach,” EA added.

EA Sports FC 24 will have over 19,000 authentic players, 30-plus leagues, and more than 100 stadiums will be represented. Fans will continue to enjoy the English Premier League and Europe’s premier competition, such as UEFA Champions League. EA Sports has secured “exclusive” agreements to maintain these brandings. Two additional leagues have been added, covering the top tier of professional leagues for women in Spain and Germany.

While the Switch version is incompatible with crossplay, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC players can enjoy crossplay.
